The short version: we collect what you type into our enquiry form, we use it to reply to you, and we do not sell it to anyone. The rest of this page is the detail.
Localworks is a trading name of Vaulo Studio Inc., registered in Delaware, USA. We are the ones responsible for the information described here. Contact us at [email protected].
Only what you give us. If you fill in the enquiry form, that is:
Our server also records the IP address the enquiry came from. That is used to stop the form being abused by bots, and for nothing else.
No advertising pixels, and nothing following you around the internet. There is no Meta pixel here and we do not run retargeting ads at you after you leave.
We do use ordinary website analytics, so we can see which pages people read and where the site confuses them. Both tools below load through Google Tag Manager. They are named here because this page was updated before the first visit was recorded, which is what we promised.
Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visited, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they were, what kind of device and browser they used, and how they arrived (a search, a link, or typing the address). It sets cookies to tell a returning visitor from a new one. We have not turned on Google's advertising features, so this is not used to build an advertising profile of you or to follow you to other sites.
Microsoft Clarity records how a page was used so we can see where people get stuck: scrolling, clicks, and a replay of the pointer moving around the page. Its setting to hide anything typed into a form is switched on, so it never captures your name, phone number, email, or anything you write in the message box. It sets cookies for the same reason.
If you would rather not be counted. Both respect your browser's tracking preferences, and blocking cookies for this site stops both. Google also publishes an opt-out add-on that works everywhere, not just here. Nothing on this site is withheld from you for opting out, and the enquiry form works exactly the same either way.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. We do not see your card number, we do not store it, and there is no card kept on file for later.
What we do receive from Stripe is the fact a payment succeeded, the amount, and the name and email on the receipt, so we can match the payment to your job. Stripe holds your payment information under its own privacy policy. There is no subscription and nothing recurring: every payment is one you actively make.
Once you have paid, we need the raw material for your website: what you do, where you work, your opening hours, the words you want on it, your logo, and photographs of your own jobs. We ask for that through a private page we call the intake portal.
There is no account and no password. We send you one link that belongs to your job and nobody else's. It cannot be guessed, it opens only your own intake, and it stops working the moment you submit it. Keep it to yourself the same way you would a password, because for that short window it is one.
What you can upload. Photographs and PDFs only, specifically JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and PDF, up to 10MB each and 20 files in total. Anything else is refused rather than quietly accepted. Please do not send us anything you would not want a contractor to see: we do not need bank details, identity documents, or customer records, and we will delete them if they arrive.
Where the files go. They are stored by Cloudflare R2, and they are served from a different web address to the app itself. That is deliberate: a file served from the same address as the app could read a signed-in session, and a separate one cannot.
We delete the files after 90 days. Once your website is built and delivered, the photographs have done their job. The record that a file existed stays in our system so we can answer a question about your build later, but the file itself is gone. If you want them deleted sooner, ask and we will.
Who sees them. Whoever builds your website sees the brief and the photographs, because they cannot build it otherwise. They do not see your phone number, your email address, what you paid, or who sold it to you. That is enforced by the software rather than by a promise, and it applies to anyone we ever bring in to help.
You do not have to use the portal. If you would rather email everything to [email protected], that is fine and it changes nothing about how we handle it.
We contact businesses directly about their websites. When we do, the information we hold comes from publicly listed business details, the kind of thing on your Google Business Profile or your own website, along with notes from our conversation.
If you ask us not to contact you again, we record that and honour it permanently. You do not have to give a reason, and once is enough.
A small number of service providers process information on our behalf. They may only use it to provide their service to us:
We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to advertisers or data brokers. If we are ever legally required to disclose something, we will comply, but we will not volunteer it.
Our providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. By sending an enquiry you accept that your details may be handled outside your own country.
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
Email [email protected] and we will action it within 30 days. There is no charge and you do not need to explain why. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and we will honour those too.
The site is served over HTTPS. The enquiry form validates and limits what it accepts, and access to our inbox is protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not collect payment card details on this website and never ask for them by email.
This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
